A painting about the reflexive act of putting keys between the knuckles as a makeshift weapon to ward of the shadowy figures of sexual violence. I often catch myself doing this walking alone, and then I remembered. When I was 12, I learned this in a seminar at my all girls school about how to not be targets of rape, and I wondered, what did they teach the boys up the hill?
