This painting made itself.. which is my dream. I was so enthralled by painting this coat of Gaia’s and had made the painting Spell Blanket, but I was sick of using the same palette. I was playing around in photoshop and inversed the image and really loved the way the spots and skin became light sources. There was a glow from within the figure. This is something that used to occur more in my paintings… Anyways, like Spell blanket I gradually formed this very gentle landscape space that would create an atmosphere and draw the viewer back to the figure. I loved how the addition of this piece changed the vibrancy of the show. The eclipse had just happened, so that’s where the title came from.
